Overview

Drive Snapshot creates an exact image of your hard disk – for backup, restore and disaster recovery while Windows keeps running. Once the backup has started, you can continue working as usual; the image shows the data as of the start time.

The server licence is required for every system running a Windows Server operating system; a workstation licence must not be used there. You need a separate licence for each machine you want to back up.

From the image, you restore individual partitions directly under Windows when needed, and the system partition on restart. With the image explorer, you mount an image as a virtual drive and access individual files.

Business licence: right of use for 12 months from the date the licence is issued, including updates and support by email (support@ondeso.com). The licence does not renew automatically; to continue using Drive Snapshot, buy a new licence. For business use.

Features

  • Backup during operation

No restart needed: you continue working as usual, the image shows the data as of the start time.

  • Restoring the system partition

When the computer restarts, from DOS or from a maintenance installation.

  • Restoring other partitions

Other partitions can be restored directly under Windows.

  • Image as a drive

Mount an image as a virtual drive and browse it in Windows Explorer.

  • Emergency boot media

Create boot media with DOS/FreeDOS, optionally with NTFS and network access; also runs under Windows PE/BartPE.

  • Differential images

Differential backup based on the hash file of a full backup.

  • Command line automation

Start and automate backups from the command line.

  • Compression and encryption

Images are compressed (approx. 50%) and can be encrypted with a password.

  • Network drive as target

Write images directly to a network drive, e.g. \\Server\Backups; the source is local hard disks.

  • Consistency test
